The People's Supermarket: London's Future 500

Eight weeks old, 250 members and growing, just wanted you to be the first to know that this week the first of sixteen new employees has started working at The People's Supermarket. They have a job for six months, 25hrs/week, mentored by social enterprise Striding Out, under the Future Jobs Fund, administered by Social Enterprise London in a programme known as London's Future 500.

We're still a fledgling enterprise but this is *really* exciting for us - a huge help to an 'all hands on deck' operation, an opportunity for members to see us supporting their community in a very practical ways but also, maybe, the start of a (kind of) 'Graduate Trainee Programme' that develops managers of branches elsewhere in the U.K. in the future.

The People's Supermarket is based at 72-78 Lamb's Conduit Street, London WC1N 3LT. You can find out more on our website. Any questions just drop us a mail there and a volunteer member will be back in touch. You can follow us on our Facebook group. We have a Twitter account @TPSLondon - but not that great at using it at the moment! I post updates when I can via @davidbarrie.

The People's Supermarket is a Meanwhile Space venture - and more than proud of it!
