We were recently contacted by Ella Harris who is meanwhile/pop up projects happening between May - August to be involved with to help her write her dissertation.
"I am an MA student in Cultural Geography and am writing my dissertation on the phenomenon of pop-up places. I am looking for places popping up between early May and mid August to use as case studies. I am flexible on the details but hope this will involve a period of ethnographic research (a couple of weeks per place, or a number of days over a longer period) during which I will help out and generally spend time on pop-up sites to gain a thorough understanding. I will also want to conduct informal interviews and use photography where possible. The aims of the research are to investigate the politics of pop-up places, their engagement within communities, and the creativity with which they are designed and experienced.
I am enthusiastic to lend a hand with the setting up and running of the participating pop-up places during the research period. I think pop-ups are an innovative and exciting new trend and would like to get involved, working alongside participants to make sure the process is mutually beneficial. If you would be interested in taking part in this research I would love to hear from you.
Thank you very much for your time, Ella Harris."
