In January 2011, Meanwhile Space moved into an empty shop on Whitechapel Road owned by Workspace Group. In partnership with New Deal of the Mind and with support from Tower Hamlets council we wanted to really help projects trial ideas in an amazing location. 

During our time in the space from January to May over 40 projects delivered ideas in the space. We made some amazing friends and saw some exciting dreams come to life. The projects ranged from exhibitions and workshops to a pop up market and theatre productions.

In December last year Meanwhile Space were approached by the Eden Project who were gathering case studies of community engagement run projects and asked to feature Meanwhile Space in Whitechapel. We jumped at the chance of contributing and handed over our report that we produced from our time in the space.
