 nk again. Artist Kamala Katbamna says the park bench is the perfect pl
 ace for conversation - particularly conversation about the emotional, 
 physical and imaginative landscape.\n \nAs if to prove the point, Kam
 ala has been cycling a bespoke ‘park bench’ through the shifting c
 ityscape of the Elephant & Castle, inviting guests and passersby to jo
 in her in an exploration of the regeneration, poverty, decay and growt
 h that mark London’s most famous roundabout. Created in the weeks le
 ading up to the recent riots, the resulting ‘postcards’ and maps a
 re an intriguing insight into a city on the brink of change.\n \nPARK
  BENCH launches with a private view on Thursday 1st September 2011 at 
 Unit 237/238 - a pop-up gallery  in the Elephant & Castle Shopping Ce
 ntre.\n \nThe exhibition will be open until Tuesday 6th September, an
 d will also feature a collaboration with writer Sebastian Groes; illus
 trations from RCA artist, Rebecca Davies; and music from Nigel of Berm
 ondsey. Plus a special contribution from Meanwhile Space itself!\n \n
